Albon Bolus is effective in the treatment of shipping fever, bacterial pneumonia, foot root and diphtheria in cattle. Albon is effective in the treatment of shipping fever complex and bacterial pneumonia associated with Pasteurella spp. sensitive to sulfadimethoxine; and calf diphtheria and foot rot associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum sensitive to sulfadimethoxine in cattle. The ALBON Bolus Tablets For Cattle (Sulfadimethoxine) are livestock antibiotics for any life stage. This is an oral treatment of shipping fever complex, bacterial pneumonia, calf diphtheria and foot rot. This long-acting ALBON bolus for cattle in a low dose provides rapid, sustained blood levels at higher levels than most other long-acting sulfonamides. ffective in the treatment of shipping fever complex and bacterial pneumonia associated with Pasteurella spp. sensitive to sulfadimethoxine and footrot and calf diphtheria associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum sensitive to sulfadimethoxine in beef and dairy cattle, including lactating dairy cows. Low dose provides rapid, sustained blood levels at higher levels than most other long-acting sulfonamides.
Albon should be administered to cattle so that the initial dose is equivalent to 25 mg/lb of body weight and each subsequent daily dose is equivalent to 12.5 mg/lb of body weight. Length of treatment will depend on clinical response. In most cases, treatment for 3-4 days is adequate. Treatment should not be continued beyond 5 days. Low toxicity. Approved for use in lactating dairy cows. These cattle antibiotics are given at 25 mg/lb. body weight for first day, 12.5 mg/lb. for subsequent 3-4 days. Includes 50 bolus tablets for cattle.
