RHINEHART CALF FEEDER BAG 2.5 L
Originally designed for administering enemas to larger patients, this bag has also proven effective as an oral calf feeder—offering a cost-effective alternative. It features a short, rigid end probe to ease passage, while the round probe end with a side port helps prevent occlusion. However, oral fluids should never be administered to animals in shock or a comatose state. Always disinfect and clean the bag between uses, and if it has been used for an enema, discontinue its use as an oral feeder.
Oral Feeding Instructions: Secure the calf’s head and gently insert the tube with your right hand. Guide it to the back of the throat, allowing the calf to swallow before advancing a few more inches. Let the fluid flow naturally, ensuring it is not administered too quickly to prevent regurgitation. Once all the fluids are gone, slowly remove the tube.
Enema Instructions: Lubricate the tip of the probe and insert it a few inches into the rectum. Administer the enema fluids and allow time for the animal to respond, typically resulting in defecation within a few minutes.
