Growing up in Western South Dakota with horses and beef cattle, Rhea’s family had a strong relationship with agriculture. Rhea obtained her B.S. in Animal Science from South Dakota State University, and the passion she cultivated throughout her youth helped her find a path within the dairy industry.  She then obtained her Master’s degree and PhD in Dairy Science, specializing in dairy nutrition. Rhea focused on dairy heifer nutrition and alternative feed ingredients during graduate school. She loves helping heifers grow and develop into productive lactating cows for the dairy. Before DFA, Rhea was a young animal nutrition consultant for a large animal nutrition company. Today, she works with DFA farmer-owners in the Southwest Area on their young animal programs.
