Masti-Clear is used for the treatment of bovine mastitis in lactating cows. Masti-Clear is effective against udder infections caused by Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae and Streptococcus uberis. Each 10 ml syringe contains 100,000 units Penicillin G Procaine in sesame oil. Administer Masti-Clear promptly at the first signs of mastitis. Administer one 10 ml syringe per infected quarter. Treatment may be repeated at 12 hour intervals, up to a total of 3 doses. Treated quarters should not be milked for at least 6 hours after treatment, but should be milked at regular intervals thereafter. Milk withdrawal 60 hours (5 milkings) after the latest treatment. Low cost bovine mastitis treatment for penicillin-susceptible bacterial infections in lactating cows. It is effective against susceptible microorganisms such as Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, and Streptococcus uberis.
Completely milk out affected quarter. Disinfect teat end by scrubbing with alcohol and allow it to dry. Administer one 10-ml syringe into quarter. Massage quarter to distribute medication.
For best results begin treatment at first signs of mastitis. Do not milk quarter for at least six hours following treatment. Repeat treatment at 12 hour intervals as needed for up to three total doses.
Dosage: 10 mL per infected quarter administered by intramammary infusion. Treatment may be repeated at intervals of 12 hrs. Do not administer more than 3 consecutive doses. Discard milk for 60 hours after treatment.
